On 14th September 2024, Dorthwell foundation carried out a food relief outreach as underscored by our 2nd guiding focus (food security) at Kuchingworo Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) camp, Abuja.
Kunchingworo camp is one of the recent refugees camp for the internally displaced people (IDP) escaping the terrorist insurgency mostly from the North. The camp comprises mainly of women and children and there is always an urgent and dire need for food, clothing, security and medical relief.
Dorthwell foundation visit outcomes:
• provided food for over 700 children ensuring they had a well nourishing meal and clean drinking water.
• Asked of the welfare, safety and ongoing needs & requirements of the kids.
• Engaged camp leaders on sustainable food solutions, discussing plans for a small farm and providing seeds and resources for them to grow their own food for a more consistent food source.
• Beyond immediate relief to long-term food security.
